Berner Rosen, or Rose de Berne, was raised in the late 19th century in Oppligen, near the city of Bern.
It is an attractive medium-sized green apple, almost entirely covered with a deep orange / red flush, flecked with dots.
The flesh is firm and fine-grained, and the flavor is rich and aromatic.
