Fearn's Pippin is a very attractive English dessert apple from the late 18th century. Unlike many apples of that era, it would have little trouble standing out on the modern supermarket shelf, and visually it is similar to the modern bi-coloured variety Ariane. Although one of the most popular Victorian varieties, it has now almost completely disappeared.
It is primarily a variety for eating fresh, but can be used for culinary purposes. It keeps into the new year.
