DeGroot Orchards has been owned & operated by the same family for 4 generations. There are 40+ acres of trees with new trees being planted nearly every year. We have over 22 varieties of apples, some of the newest varieties available, as well as many Heritage varieties now being rediscovered. Our pick your own orchard is a new edition to an established garden center and landscape design and installation center in Sarpy County. In addition to the fruit grown here, we offer other regional produce as well as Nebraska wines and local honeys and honey products inside of our gift shop.  more>>

Less than an hour drive from either Lincoln or Omaha, Union Orchard grows a wide variety of fruit. The first apple trees were planted on the property in 1895, and was the University of Nebraska's research orchard for 45 years. Owned by the Wostrel Family, we grow Asparagus, Rhubarb, Strawberries, Cherries, Peaches, Apples, Pears, and Pumkins. Our Bakery always has fresh pies, donuts, and turnovers. Classrooms are welcome to visit our Apple Education Building where children learn about how apples grow. A Vala's staff member teaches children how to pick apples and takes them to the orchard for hands-on learning and picking. Pick-your-own pumpkins are also a favorite activity. Open to the public 7 days a week, Vala's has special activities and entertainment throughout the fall season.  more>>
