- 02 Jul 2022Quite hardy apple having weathered some winters with up to two weeks of minus 35 Celcius temperatures in prairie region of Alberta. Trees are productive with apple fruit diameters up to 8 cm. Fruit is attractive pinkish-red blush over much of the blossom end of the apple with green toward the stem. Crotch structure is somewhat challenging and branch angles from trunk and in tree can vary. Very nice apple to eat fresh or when cooked. Also very tasty when dried with a bit of cinnamon added. Fruit is not as crisp or juicy as many of the commercial apples from British Columbia or Washington but one of the best apples for the prairies from my experience.
- 22 Jul 2016 ALBERTA, CanadaCrisp, large apple, does not brown quickly once pealed or cooked, excellent for pies as it does not brown when cooked. great taste, not too sweet or soft.
