Tsugaru apple

75% red over color on yellow background. Medium sized, mid- season maturing fruit. Resembles Golden Delicious, but firmer fleshed. Weakly flavored, sweet-tart, crisp and juicy.

      They have just the perfect sweetness and a little tarte. I enjoy them very much. I went out today to buy more and was able to buy the last bag.

      Bland, insipid, uninspiring. I put one in the garden expecting a quite different fruit. Some Japanese varieties are peerless but not this one.

      It was one of my favorites from the 2011 Home Orchard Society All About Fruit show. I had them make a tree for me which is now growing in my yard.

      These are the best tasting apples I have ever had. Bought a box of these on our way home from Lake Chelan fresh fromt he orchard. they are heavenly. Sweet, with just a touch or tartness. Making apple pies today!
